When It Rains, It Pours!

Well, I have been a little quiet lately, but I have very good reasons.  I have had the best of intentions, but I just haven't had time to sit down and put anything together that I thought anyone would care about reading.  You know how life gets in the way sometimes of what you really  love to do, what you really enjoy doing??  Well, it's been a couple of those weeks for me.

Wrapping up the school year was CRAZY!  I had FOUR graduations.  Yes, four, to do.  I started with Senior graduation and then went to kindergarten, eighth grade, and then fifth grade.  Holy cow, what a busy week that was!!  BUT...I survived, and I get to do it all again next year!!

The raining/pouring part came this week.  On Sunday afternoon we had a terrible thunderstorm.  Lord knows we needed the rain, BUT....we did NOT need the lightning that accompanied it.  We really believed that something in our house was struck by lightning, but we couldn't figure out what it was at the time.  Monday afternoon, it was pretty apparent what it was ---- the refrigerator.  I LOVED my refrigerator.  It was black and blended with my cabinets perfectly.  BUT...now I have a new refrigerator.  Didn't plan on having to make such a costly purchase right now.

Then the pouring part came.  The house seemed REALLY warm yesterday, and it turns out the AIR CONDITIONER quit working!!!!!!  Can you believe that???  TWO major problems in one week.  It was soooo hot in here last night, even with ceiling fans and window fans.  At 2 this morning, it was 88 degrees in the house!!!  Thankfully, it is now fixed tonight, and we are starting to cool down.

I have been working on a few projects in the midst of all this craziness, but now I have to recover the house from the refrigerator disaster and the air conditioner disaster this week.  It's almost like we have gone through another hurricane here this week without our conveniences we are so spoiled with!!

Hope all you had a MUCH BETTER week than I did.  The good news is, it's over, and the weekend is here!!  WOOHOO!!!!

  1. I've had air conditioning go out in the summer and it's no fun! In fact, it feels like someone left the doors to he-double L open!

Hope you got a refrigerator you love and things are "cool" at your house now!!!

  3. I am sorry Farcia, I had a couple of years lately like that. We had to replace all our major systems and roof , complete tear off, electricity, appliances, etc. last year we had our kids graduate HS, college and middle school. My husband is a teacher, science . I am sorry for all the raining at once! I can sympathize and will pray for you. Your blog is so nice and thank you for sharing……..your gorgeous home…smiles.

  4. Sometimes life just has a way of throwing a curve ball at us especially unexpectedly. I am so glad that you and your family are alright. Things can be replaced, it stinks that they happen to be expensive things though. Hope things get better for you soon. Sending good thoughts your way!

  6. I know what you mean, sometimes life just gets busy - doesn't it? Just take a deep breath and get on with it. Hopefully you had some time this weekend to relax and do something that makes you feel happy! You can do anything, but not everything (quote by David Allen). Take care!!

  9. It's so hot here too (100 degrees plus heat index) and I keep wondering about our AC (knock on wood) I honestly don't think I could bare it and would have to leave. I feel so sorry for people that don't have AC and pray they make it through.

Glad you got a new fridge !

Four graduations is a LOT! Glad you got through that too!

Sounds like you can relax a bit not!

  10. I do not think I could have done four graduations. You are strong! I just looked at your kitchen and I love the black cabinets. We have a black bed and I just had to have it. It's just about the only new piece of furniture we own because I buy everything second hand. I have tried several times to follow you but it will not let me sign in with google or yahoo. I will try again later. hugs♥O

  11. Sorry about the storm and your refrigerator, but the new one will be perfect. I found you via an old linky party at Debbie's place.....the one of the tour of your GORGEOUS kitchen. I could move right in there and not change a thing....and be happy, HAPPY!

I'm your newest follower. Can't wait to see what else you cook up!

  12. Hope you are doing well and getting everything back in order. I am sorry about your week and the big expenses, not what you ever have in mind in one week. Hang in there and we all will be waiting for your return. Hey, it's summertime and I can say I don't have alot of extra time for my blog these days and it's ok.
Hope you are doing well.....take care!
